Day One

Setting up the industrial machines unpacking and receiving all the supplies and showing the curious drop-ins what the Sewing Circle Project is all about. 

Day one in Eabametoong First Nation and people have been dropping by the Sewing Circle Project all day. The highlight for me was this youth group of enthusiastic and fun teenagers.    

Daisy Slipperjack was afraid to try out the high powered sewing machines. She would stay back as I was demonstrating what the equipment could do. I finally convinced her to try it and here she is, gaining confidence and overcoming her fears. Go DAISY!

Here are the leggings Daisy made for her niece. I asked her if she would show others how to operate the machines.
